Prehistoric hoard of metalwork, c900-c600 BC. Hoards of metalwork usually consist of fragments of swords, axes, spears, tools and lumps of copper ingot. This hoard was recovered from the terminal of a ditch on a site at Egham in Surrey. The 78 pieces were deliberately deposited in two separate groups, possibly inside bags, which have since been perished. | |
