Curve-billed thrasher (Toxostoma curvirostre) perched in a tree. This medium-sized mimid is native to the southwestern United States and much of Mexico. Mimids (family Mimidae) include mockingbirds and are known for their vocalisation,especially some species' ability to mimic a wide variety of birds and other sounds.
