Drug-related bruising on the arm of a 91-year-old woman. At the time of the bruising,the patient was taking the anticoagulant drug edoxaban,a drug that impairs the ability of blood to clot. This can lead to bruising even after minimal trauma,as seen here. The drug is being taken to prevent a stroke in a case of atrial fibrillation (AF),a type of irregular heartbeat.
