MK-1775 is a potent inhibitor of the tyrosine kinase enzyme Wee1. The Wee group of enzymes are negative regulators of the cell cycle via phosphorylation of critical enzymes that activate mitosis. MK-1775 enhances the cytotoxic effects of various anti-cancer drugs, including 5-fluorouricil. The compound is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials. | |
