Alstroemeria is a genus of flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae, originating from South America, and commonly known as the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas. Pollen grains, containing the male sex cells (gametes), are reproductive structures produced by the male parts of flowering plants.
