This coronal (frontal view) reconstruction from a CT myelogram shows the beautiful appearance of the normal conus medullaris which represents the caudal (inferior) termination of the spinal cord. It can normally terminate from T12 to L2/3. The vertically oriented linear densities surrounding the conus medullaris are the nerve roots which will make up the cauda equina. | |
