A 50 year old female patient was initially injected with 10.0 mCi of technetium 99m MAG3 and 10 minutes later with 40 mg of Lasix. There is mildly diminished perfusion to the left kidney compared with the right. The kidneys appear normal in position and size. There is rapid function and excretion bilaterally, with activity in both ureters by 3 minutes. No evidence of hydronephrosis. With Lasix administration there is continued excretion bilaterally with no prolonged retention in either renal collecting system. The time to peak activity measures 2 minutes for both kidneys. The differential uptake at 2 to 3 minutes is 59% on the right and 41% on the left. T1/2 measurements prior to Lasix measure 8 minutes for the left kidney and 7 minutes for the right kidney and following Lasix administration the T1/2 measurements are 10 minutes on the left and 9 minutes on the right. The renal excretion curves continually decreased bilaterally, slightly slower on the left side. | |
