Lay the victim on their back on a flat, hard surface. Open the airways by tilting the head back and lifting up on the chin using two fingers placed under the jaw. Look inside the mouth and remove any visible foreign bodies blocking the way. Move the head carefully if you suspect neck or head injuries. Verify that the victim is breathing by placing your ear close to the mouth and nose and attempting to hear any breathing noise or breath. Observe if the chest is rising. | |
