Potato Blight Mold (Phytophthora infestans) is a plant pathogen responsible for the great famine in Ireland in 1845. Earlier analysis classified P. infestans as a fungi whereas recent research has moved it to the group of the stramenopile lineage. This includes golden and brown algae and diatoms. | |
