Manganese reacts with an acid. Manganese metal (Mn) reacts with 1M hydrochloric acid (HCl) in a beaker. The reaction proceeds vigorously and produces hydrogen gas (H2) bubbles: Mn + HCl -> MnCl2 + H2. This is an example of a single displacement reaction. | |
