Litmus indicator. Litmus changes its colour depending on the pH of the solution. Here litmus indicator was added to two household solutions: vinegar (mostly diluted acetic acid, CH3COOH) and baking soda solution (sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO3). Vinegar is acidic and turns litmus pink/red. Baking soda is alkaline and turns litmus purple/violet. | |
