Cobalt chloride test paper. A small amount of water is dropped on a cobalt chloride test paper. When water is present, cobalt (II) chloride (CoCl2) test paper changes its colour from blue (anhydrous CoCl2) to purple (dihydrate CoCl2 2H2O) to pink (hexahydrate CoCl2 6H2O). Therefore it is often used as a water (humidity) detector. | |
