Zinc reacts with sulfuric acid. Zinc metal (Zn) coil is placed in a test tube with 1M solution of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) at room temperature. Zinc reacts with the acid producing hydrogen gas (H2) bubbles: Zn + H2SO4 -> ZnSO4 + H2. This is an example of a single displacement reaction. | |
