Iron reacts with sulfuric acid. Powdered iron is placed in a test tube with 1M solution of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) at room temperature. Iron (Fe) reacts with the acid producing hydrogen bubbles: Fe + H2SO4 -> FeSO4 + H2. This is an example of a single displacement reaction. | |
