The Persian Carpet Flower (Edithcolea grandis) is a species in a monotypic genus; it ranges throughout Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Yemen. It is also found through the Socotra archipelago. The plant is found in dry and arid regions, sometimes in full sun, but mostly partly shaded locations by rocks and shrubby vegetation. The plant produces a carrion flower and uses carrion beetles and flies as pollinators. | |
