This larval prawn, Cerataspis monstruosus, is so different from the adult prawn that for many years, it was thought to be its own species. The adults are recognized as Gamba Prawns or Royal Red Prawns in the northeastern United States. This individual was trawled up in the Gulf of Mexico, 2015. | |
