Fossilized shark tooth from the Hawthorne Formation of South Carolina. The fossil was found in either Charleston, Colleton or Beaufort County, South Carolina. The fossil dates from the Miocene/Pliocene Age, between 5 and 15 million years ago, and could be from either a Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) or the extinct Carcharocles megalodon. | |
