Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) was an Irish dramatist and poet. Today he is remembered for his epigrams, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, his plays, and his arrest and trial for gross indecency because of his sexual relationships with other men. He was imprisoned for two years' hard labour, which contributed to his early death at the age of 46. | |
