Henry Ford receiving bag of airmail. US industrialist Henry Ford (1863-1947) receiving a bag of mail that has been delivered by an airplane. He is being handed the mailbag by a postmaster named Kellogg. Ford was an early pioneer of private airmail services. One of his companies, Ford Air Transport, was the first to fly airmail under contract, starting on 15 February 1926. This first flight took place from Detroit to Cleveland.
