Gastric antral vascular ectasia. Endoscope view of the antrum (final portion of stomach), affected by gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE). GAVE, or watermelon stomach, is associated with painless upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is treated with laser and cauterisation. Sometimes removal of the affected part of the stomach is necessary. It is not associated with cancer. | |
