| Absorbent wound dressing. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Cutinova polyurethane absorbent foam dressing, showing the honeycombed structure of the foam. When applied to an exuding wound, this polyacrylate superabsorbant foam will absorb excess fluid but maintain the wound surface in a moist condition providing a micro-environment that is conducive to healing. Cutinova swells as it absorbs liquid, and takes on the shape of the wound. Cutinova may be applied to a variety of exuding wounds, including leg ulcers, pressure sores, and various burns.
