Absorbent wound dressing. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Biatain polyurethane absorbent foam dressing. The surface of the wound dressing is across top, with the polyurethane foam seen below it. When applied to an exuding wound, the foam will absorb excess fluid but maintain the wound surface in a moist condition providing a micro-environment that is conducive to healing. Biatain may be applied to a variety of exuding wounds, including leg ulcers, minor burns, and donor sites. Biatain is manufactured by Coloplast. Magnification: x1000 when printed 10cm wide.
