Tortoise beetle (Chiridopsis scalaris). The Cassidinae (tortoise and leaf-mining beetles) are a subfamily of the leaf beetles, or Chrysomelidae. In many species of tortoise beetles the adults are colourful and metallic, and able to change their colour. They feed on the surface layers of plants. | |
