Vasectomy ring clamp. This instrument, also known as a fixation clamp, is used to hold the vas deferens, the tube that carries sperm from the testis to the penis. During vasectomy, or male sterilisation surgery, the two vas deferentia are cut and tied, or sealed. This stops sperm from being ejected at ejaculation, providing a method of contraception that is nearly 100% efficient. | |
