Talaiotic prehistoric site, Menorca. These stone piles and monuments are part of the prehistoric Talaiotic settlement excavated at the site of Torre Llafuda, on the Mediterranean island of Menorca, Spain. This complex was used between the 14th and 13th centuries BC. The Talaiotic culture arose on Mallorca and Menorca during the second millennium BC, ending in the first millennium BC with the rise of the Roman and Carthaginian empires. Photographed in 2009. | |
