Snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus) head. This bird of prey is found throughout the Arctic. Unlike many other owls, the snowy owl is diurnal, hunting during the day. Its habitat is tundra and scrub, where it feeds mainly on lemmings, although it also hunts other prey. Snowy owls may reach a length of over 60 centimetres, with a wingspan of 150 centimetres. | |
