Adhesions in the pelvic cavity. Adhesions are bands of scar tissue that form between organs as a response to trauma. Pelvic adhesions may be caused by surgery, infection or endometriosis, a condition where cells from the lining of the uterus migrate to the abdominal cavity. The adhesions can be surgically removed if they cause pain, or obstruction or dysfunction of organs. | |
