A small herd of African bush elephants (Loxodonta africana) crossing the Chobe river in Botswana. The matriarch has two young elephants swimming alongside her as she guides them across the river to new pastures. Elephants are herbivores and are the world's largest and heaviest land animals. Adult females and their young live in large social groups, whereas males lead largely solitary lives. | |
