Pair of little bee-eaters (Merops pusillus) perched on a branch. This is a tiny member of the bee-eater family (family Meropidae), with a mass of only 15 grams and a length of only 18 centimetres. It is found in south-eastern Africa in bushveld, open woodland and savanna habitats. They live in pairs. Photographed on the Chobe river between Namibia and Botswana. | |
