The stigma, together with the style and ovary comprises the pistil, which in turn is part of the gynoecium or female reproductive organ of a plant. S. graminea is a species of flowering plant in the Caryophyllaceae family (carnations), known commonly as lesser stitchwort, grass-leaved stitchwort, or grass-like starwort.
