Ingeborg Schmidt (born 1899), Estonian-US ophthalmologist. Trained in medicine in Germany, Schmidt did research on colour vision. She had worked as a research assistant in Tubingen and Berlin from 1927 to 1935, and then in aviation medicine at the Aeromedical Institute in Berlin from 1935 to 1945. After immigrating to the USA, Schmidt taught at University of Texas (1946 to 1952), Columbia University (1952 to 1953), and Indiana University (1954 to 1970). | |
