Tetraedron triangulare. Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Tetraedron triangulare a genus of green algae, in the family Chlorococcaceae. Tetraedron are unicellular chlorophyte with flattened, triangular, square or polygonal cells. A single green chloroplast fills the cell. Spines of varying length often emanate from the corners.Found in the plankton of lakes and ponds including sewage ponds. Magnification: x 7000 when printed at 10cm wide.
