Jennie Laura Symons Simpson (1894-1977), Canadian-US geneticist. Simpson earned all her degrees from McGill University. Her first degree was obtained in 1917, and she was awarded her doctorate in 1925. That same year, she married biochemist George Eric Simpson. Jennie Simpson worked at Hunter College from 1929 to 1962. Most of her research was on marine algae. | |
