Reoccurring Dupuytren's contracture. Hand of a 48 year old female patient who has previously had surgery for Dupuytren's contracture. However, the nodules that were removed had reoccurred. Dupuytren's contracture causes one or more fingers to become fixed in a bent position. It occurs when tissue in the palm of the hand thickens and shortens (palmar fibromatosis), preventing the tendons attached to the fingers from moving freely. | |
