Katherine Johnson, friend of Nikola Tesla. Johnson was the wife of US writer and diplomat Robert Underwood Johnson (1853-1937). Robert Johnson was poet and editor of the Century Magazine, and was later US Ambassador to Italy. He and his wife were close friends of Serb-US physicist and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla (1856-1943). Johnson and Tesla met in 1893, and Tesla often visited Johnson's home, socializing with his wife Katherine and their children Owen and Agnes. It was in this social setting that Tesla met and befriended many famous people.
