Magnificent shrimp goby (Tomiyamichthys sp.) emerging from its burrow. This fish shares its burrow with a shrimp. The goby alerts the shrimp to predators via the shrimp's antennae which are always in contact with its symbiotic partner fish. The shrimp keeps the shared burrow clear of gravel and sand. Photographed in Lembeh Strait, off Sulawesi, Indonesia. | |
