The separator is a small cylinder divided into two unequal parts. The top part ( in the photo ) is where the oil is streamed off. In the larger cylinder, the settling tank, the condensed steam separates into water and oil, which rises to the surface. When the layer is deep enough it is pushed up by more incoming condensed liquid into the top small separator tank. The yield is 1 litre per 50 to 250 kilos of cuttings but Lavandin can produce up to 7 times greater yield than lavender. It will be added to many products as an essential oil perfume.
