Binocular microscope. Illustration of a binocular microscope designed by the Frenchman Frere Cherubin and described in his 1677 book La Vision Parfite. This microscope design includes a means to vary the distance between the eyepieces at upper centre. The microscope was held by a handle at lower centre. Cherubin's binocular microscopes were impractical for scientific study. | |
