Jules Danbe (1840-1905). 1901 illustration of the French violinist, composer and conductor Jules Danbe. Danbe's work focused mainly on opera. He was principal conductor at the Theatre de la Gaite-Lyrique, Paris, France, in 1876, and conductor at the Opera-Comique from 1877-1898; Director of Music of the Foundation Beaulieu from 1888-1905) and a member of the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra. He composed works for the violin and was received the Legion d'Honneur in 1885. | |
