Leopard (Panthera pardus) with fresh kill. Leopard dragging a freshly killed deer into the undergrowth. This solitary carnivore is found in wooded savannah and forests throughout sub-Saharan Africa and southern Asia. It is almost completely nocturnal, spending its days resting in the branches of trees, which it climbs with great agility. At night it will ambush its prey, dropping on it from the branches of a tree. Photographed in India. | |
