Artwork of Mimas. This is the leading hemisphere of the smallest of Saturn's main moons, Mimas. With a diameter of 396 kilometres it is only just large enough to form a spherical shape under its own weight. It is mostly composed of water ice, and is heavily cratered. The large ‘death star’ crater is named Herschel, after the moon's discoverer. | |
