Gaetano Bonelli (1815-1867). 1868 illustration of the Italian inventor Gaetano Bonelli. Bonelli made several inventions relating to telegraphy and photography. Bonelli was the director of telegraph services in Turin. With English inventor Henry Cook, Bonelli worked in the 1860s to produce an early form of movie camera, later known as the 'photobioscope'. It was presented by Cook at the Societe Francaise de Photographie in 1867. Cook and Bonelli also formed Bonelli's Electric Telegraph Company (1860 to 1864). | |
