A panel of solar cells, Provence, France. Evening light reflects from the array of solar panels on this solar photovoltaic power plant at Sault, southern France. With around 150 days annually of strong sunlight solar farms are gaining in popularity and output in this region. The photovoltaic cells convert the solar energy into electricity which after conversion to AC is fed into the local grid. The grass around the panels, which could become a nuisance, is cropped by a small flock of sheep. | |
