ExoMars spacecraft vibration testing
ExoMars spacecraft vibration testing. Vibration launch testing in 2015 for the European Space Agency's ExoMars spacecraft (launched March 2016) on a shaker table at Thales Alenia Space, Cannes, France. The main spacecraft is the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) with folded solar panels and an insulation-sheathed main antenna (lower right). On top is Schiaparelli, the ExoMars Demonstrator Module (EDM) lander that was be used to test landing technologies for the follow-on ExoMars rover (2018). Unfortunately Schiaparelli crash-landed on Mars on 19 October 2016. TGO will look for methane in the Martian atmosphere and act as a communications relay for rovers on Mars.
