Male moose or elk (Alces alces) standing by water. The antlers of the male moose are the largest of all the deer family,some measuring 2 metres from tip to tip. Males also have a dewlap (loose flap of skin) beneath their chins. Moose live in forests,bogs and marshes in the higher latitudes of the northern hemisphere. They feed on shoots and aquatic plants.
