The gregarious Harbor Seal (Phoca vitulina) spends much time basking on beaches and rocky shores,sometimes alone,but usually with several other individuals. The Harbor Seal can dive to 1,400 ft. deep and remain submerged for up to 27 minutes. An individual Harbor Seal may live for 30 or more years.
