Arizona cougar (felis concolor) in the branches of a tree. The cougar is also known as the puma,the panther and the mountain lion. A fully grown cougar has a body length of 1-1.6 meters and a body weight of up to 100 kg. It is a solitary and territorial animal,preying on most species of mammals - deer in particular. By nature cougars are active by day and night,however they have become strictly nocturnal in areas inhabited by man. They range from North America to South America.
