Siberian tiger cubs. Siberian tiger cubs (Panthera tigris altaica) play fighting in grassland. Two to four young are born after a gestation lasting just over three months. These young nurse for a further six months, but stay with their mother for a year or more. When fully grown,Siberian tigers are the largest members of the cat family, reaching almost three metres in length and weighing up to 300 kilograms. They are generally solitary, living in huge territories covering hundreds of square kilometres, which they mark out with urine and scent. They hunt both large and small mammals, which they attack from ambush | |
