The Mexican Gray Wolf (Canis lupus baileyi) is the rarest and most genetically distinct subspecies of the North American Gray Wolf. It is one of the smallest subspecies,reaching an overall length of no greater than 4.5 feet and a maximum height of about 32 inches.
