Pine grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator) perched on a conifer twig. This bird inhabits forests and forest edges throughout northern parts of Eurasia and North America. It feeds mainly on buds,but also takes seeds,fruits,flowers and insects. It can reach a length of around 23 centimetres. Only the male has this red colour; the female is a dull brown.
